This is to certify that on Saturday 17th November one thousand seven hundred and ninety Eight Was sold by order of the Surrogate Court at public auction the Plantation by the name of Scongings late the property of Mr. James Shortall to Mr. Thomas Ewer for the Sum of Ten pound Sterling money of great Brittain which Sum has been duly paid as Witness my hand in Ferryland, Newfoundland.
