No details of this surname surfaced in Ferryland District, other than there were a few unconnected entries with various spellings of the surname throughout area records. The name disappeared from Caplin Bay after 1842, and although it surfaced again in Fermeuse/Renews parish in the 1870s, there is no reason to believe that they were relatives of the former Caplin Bay Keillys. It is unknown how long this surname was at Caplin Bay before 1840. There were no indications of females Keillys at Caplin Bay who could have married into other families in the area. |
