Keough's Lane, Calvert, Newfoundland - circa mid 1930s

Keough's Lane This photo was taken from the middle of The Beach looking south towards Keough's fishing premises and homes. Keough's Lane (along the white picket fence) ran from the main road (on the far right) giving full access to the family fishing stages and stores at the shoreline. The access to the family homes, stables and sheds was also from this lane. The house to the right of main road, in the area known as The Cross, is believed to be that of Richard Delahunty. The houses toward the center of the photo, farther south-east along the road, are believed to have belonged to the Rossiter, Ryan and Johnston families.
