    Notes
    • Johanna was in all likelihood the daughter of Jeffrey Malone. The fact that one of her sons was named Jeffrery (Geofrey), supports this speculation. Johanna may have been born in Co. Waterford, Ireland, or Ferryland. The Malone family is first mentioned at Ferryland in 1816. In 1816, Jeffrey Malone, who owed money to the merchant firm of Samuel Carter & Co, was forced to sign over his property as surety for the debt. This property was located at Fox Hill and occupied by Maurice Fitzpatrick at that time.

In 1818, Maurice Fitzgerald left his land to the wife of Jeffrey Malone, so it appears that he may have been a relative, possibly a brother. It is not clear if this was the same property, formerly owned by Jeffrey Malone, that he had occupied in 1816 at Fox Hill. It is quite possible that Johanna inherited the land at Fox Hill that eventually became the Healey homestead.
