    Notes
    • On December 24, 1828, a letter of instruction (later deemed a valid will), was written by John Morry, to his uncle Matthew Morry, just before he set sail on a voyage to England. John indicated to his uncle what his business situation was, what should be attended to while he was absent, and what to do in the event he was lost and did not return. In this document there is mention of a name that I believe to be that of David Hearne (transcribed as David Hearse). David appears to be employed by John Morry for the summer fishery. The instructions state "David Hearse is agreed to go in the Boat Dart for 7.10 p. hundred to have 4 men and 1 boy; to split his own fish". It appears that the boat Dart belonged to Morry since later in the letter he tells his uncle "The Darts sails & craft are in Mr. Holdworth store". (Kevin Reddigan)

David died in 1846, but there is no indication that he was married or had any family.
