Catherine Oates

Abt 1856 - 1929  (~ 73 years)

• Name	Catherine Oates
Born	Abt 1856	Fermeuse, Newfoundland   [1]
  Gender	Female
  Died	18 Aug 1929	Fermeuse, Newfoundland   [2]
Notes	Kate's death record states that she was 73 when she died in 1929, therefore she was born about 1856. This date is probably more accurate than the date given in the 1921 census (May 1861). No record can be found of her birth in the Renews RC Baptisms - which go back to 1857. Based on the Renews marriage records, Kate would appear to have been the daughter of Andrew Oates and Bridget (Bridgeman) Maddigan and the older sister of Anne Oates who married Joseph Rossiter.
