| Notes |
- There has been some conflicting information published regarding Edward Condon. In the book Calling All Condons, the late Ray Condon wrote that this Edward Condon was born in Co. Wexford and had been brought over by Bishop Fleming to work on the RC Cathedral in St. John's. My research indicates that this was not the same Edward Condon. Edward Condon of Waterford married and settled at Aquaforte in the 1820s, long before the construction of the RC Cathedral began. It is not known exactly when the Condons arrived at Aquaforte but an old marriage record at Aquaforte in 1825, for Mary Readigan and John Mullaley, shows a John Condon as one of their witnesses. This could have been Edward's father or a brother.
Edward Condon married in 1827. His wife was Anne Saunders, daughter of Robert Saunders. The Saunders were of English origin, although it appears that Robert Saunders was born at Ferryland about 1783. His father was Daniel Saunders and his mother was Mary Carter, daughter of Robert Carter, from a prominent Ferryland family. Although the Saunders were Church of England, it appears that Robert Saunders' wife (name unknown) may have been Roman Catholic and Robert's children were raised in that faith.
