  Notes	Evening Telegram, Sept 11, 1895. Funeral of the late Captain H. Carew The funeral of the late Henry Carew took place at Cape Broyle last Friday pm. A general favourite and philanthropic man in his lifetime, the people showed their high regard by attending the funeral obsequies in large numbers. Amongst the mourners were Rev LR Vereker and J Ryan, Esquire, Justice of the Peace at Ferryland. The death of Captain Carew deprives Ferryland of a prominent resident, and the people of the community of a valuable and helpful friend. The best days of his business life were devoted to the interests of that quiet settlement and was never known to be wanting when the material interests of Cape Broyle might be benefited by his services.
