  DECEMBER 1916 - St. John's Daily News. 27 - Hubert SCORE, St. John's and J. ASPELL, Cape Broyle, drowned from schooner Artizan The Evening Telegram reported on Jan 17, 1917 that "J. Aspell, of Cape Broyle, a married man" and another man, Hubert Score, of St. John's had been washed overboard and drowned from the schooner, Artizan. The article does not indicate the exact date, or location of this mishap, but speculates that it was probably in a storm that occured on Dec. 26/27, 1916. The Artizan, under Capt. J. Callahan, had left St. John's to cross the Atlantic on Dec 26, 1916 with a full cargo of codfish for foreign markets.
