  The Vital Statistics death record indicates (incorrectly) that Mary was born at Cape Broyle, but her son Thomas and daughter Jane both stated, in the 1935 Newfoundland Census, that their mother was born at Witless Bay. Her age (given as 78 in the same document) appears to be incorrect, unless she was actually born before her parents married.
