Margaret Murphy

Abt 1853 - 1888  (~ 35 years)

• Name	Margaret Murphy
Born	Abt 1853	Witless Bay, Newfoundland   [1]
  Gender	Female
Baptism	6 Oct 1857	St. Patrick's Parish, Witless Bay, Newfoundland   [2]
  Died	8 Aug 1888	Caplin Bay, Newfoundland   [3, 4]
Births, Deaths, Marriages in Newfoundland Newspapers (1810-1890) - DEATH 8 August 1888 - Margaret Murphy - aged 35 Deceased was the wife of the late James Murphy, Witless Bay, and daughter of Capt. Andrew Keough. The newspaper transcription is a little confused, probably should read "wife of Capt. Andrew Keough and daughter of the late Jame Murphy, Witless Bay". I did not find an 1853 record for Margaret in the Witless Bay records, so I could not verify this deduction. If her father was James, there was a daughter, Margaret Anne (of James Murphy and Frances Blackler) baptised on 6 October 1857. The same age (35) is given on both her headstone and in the newspaper.
