When Bessie remarried at Grands Falls in 1914, her religion was given as Roman Catholic. However, on the Vital Statistics death records of her parents, Robert (d. 1934) and Mary Jane (d. 1918) Oldford, their religion was noted as being Church of England/Anglican. Since it appears that Bessie's previous husband was Roman Catholic, it is likely that she converted to Roman Catholicism on her first marriage.
