  Two different death dates are recorded in Vital Statistics for Mary Ledwell: June 7, 1931 - cancer and January 7, 1932 - old age. The age in both records is given as 78. Mary's headstone transcribed information says she died 6 June 1931 at 73 years old.

  There may have been other children in this marriage, but only four have been identified so far. It is curious that the baptisms for two of their four children, (Mary and John), were recorded in Holy Apostles RC Parish, but no records were found for the other two,(Catherine and Elizabeth), in the parish baptism records in the Ferryland area. However in the 1921 Newfoundland Census, both Catherine and Elizabeth indicated that they were born at Caplin Bay in the 1870s.
