- No Barry's were recorded in the Voters Lists in Ferryland District until 1849. In three of the Voters Lists (1849, 1852, 1855), William's place of abode was recorded as Wren's Nest, the area on the hillside, along the main road to and from Ferryland. While William died in May 1858, the Voters List for Caplin Bay was not updated for 1859 and William was incorrectly recorded there, living in the general area referred to as Riverhead.

- In a probate petition, Patrick is named as the father of the applicant, Michael Barry, two daughters, Bridget (Meagher) and Julia (Ryan) and three more sons, John (deceased), Robert (deceased), and William. Strangely, this is the only document that has surfaced recording Patrick Barry's name. He was not found in any court records or in the Voters List of Ferryland District.
