- It appears that Mary and husband Andrew Shallow from Renews immigrated to the US in 1882, while her sister Ellen and her husband Samual Shallow (Andrew's brother) from Fermeuse went to Boston about 1890. In the will of Patrick Power, husband of Sarah Keough and brother-in-law of Mary and Ellen Keough Shallow, he left $20 each to Sister Lucy Shallow and Sister Benedict Shallow, Sisters of the Poor. Although it doesn't mention their location, the Sisters of the Poor were a U.S. religious congregation. Their religious names do not let us determine to which Shallow family they belonged.
