Margaret Rossiter

Abt 1809 - 1884  (~ 75 years)

• Name	Margaret Rossiter
Born	Abt 1809	Caplin Bay, Newfoundland   [1]
No surviving records exist to allow us to prove that Margaret was the daughter of Thomas Rossiter and Anne ?? However, this conclusion has a high probability of being correct since family lore relates Thomas arrived at Caplin Bay, after his discharge from the Royal Navy.
  Gender	Female
Died	5 Apr 1884	Caplin Bay, Newfoundland   [2]
I believe the record below to be that of Margaret (Rossiter) Keefe as she was the only Mrs. Edward Keefe in the area. While her place of death was given as Ferryland, again the obit likely refers to her district, instead of her actual home settlement. Births, Deaths, Marriages in Newfoundland Newspapers (1810-1890) - Death Sat. April 5, 1884 - Mrs. Edward Keefe - Ferryland - aged 75.

Family	Edward Keefe,   b. Abt 1799, Waterford, Ireland ,   d. Abt 20 Oct 1879, Caplin Bay, Newfoundland  (Age ~ 80 years)
Married	Abt 1837	Ferryland, Newfoundland   [1]
Although Ferryland RC Parish dates back to 1789, the surviving records only go back as far as 1870. However, in the absence of a record at St. John's, or the neighboring Holy Apostles RC Parish at Fermeuse, it seem likely they were married in their home parish of Ferryland.
