  There is an elaborate monument to Thomas and several other family members in Kirkbean Parish Churchyard, Dumfries and Galloway,Scotland. It is inscribed as follows: IN Memory Of Robert Crockett Late tennant in Kirkhouse, who died at Woodside Cottage 1st April 1843, aged 70 years. Also Helen Kirkpatrick, his Wife who died there,29th October 1855, Aged 66 years. Also Robert their son, Commander of the ship Menceus of Liverpool who died on the homeward voyage from Shanghai 11th Sep. 1850 Aged 32. Also Thomas their son, Commander of the ship Hope, of Halifax N.S. who died in the Gulf of Mexico 20th August 1852, aged 35 years. Also of four of their Sons who died in Infancy. It is not clear if Thomas was buried here, at sea, or in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
