  Notes	William was supposedly 92 yrs old when he died but based on the fact that James (b. 1816) appears to have been the eldest son, William was likely, at least, a few years younger. His death certificate says he was born at Ferryland not Caplin Bay, however the baptism record of his brother James in 1818 states the parents, William and Jane Johnston, were from Caplin Bay. Although it appears William remained Anglican, I seem to remember seeing a record (which I now cannot locate) of a deathbed conversion to Catholicism. All of his children were raised as Roman Catholics.
