BROPHY, Clara - of Fermeuse, aged 75 years old. [16 March 2008] It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clara Brophy announce her passing. Clara was born in Calvert and at the age of 22 moved to Fermeuse. Clara is predeceased by parents Patrick and Annie Murphy of Calvert, brothers Norman, Francis and Angus and sister Charlotte. Left with fond and loving memories husband of 52 years, Jim, children Jocelyn Costello of Whitehorse, Owen (Barb) Brophy of Goulds, Wanda (Kenny) Drew of Bay Bulls, Rosarie (Charlie) O'Dea of Bay Bulls, Liz (Harry) Barron of St. John's, Roy (Colleen) Brophy of Goulds, Todd (Maxine) Brophy of Egbert, Ontario, Tina (Kevin) Tracey of Goulds, and Olga (Clarke) Dale of St. John's. Cherished grandchildren Sherri-Lynn and Shivonne Costello (father Ian Costello), Kimberlee Brophy, Christopher and Renee Drew, Johnathan O'Dea, Jessica and Sheldon Barron, Janine, Janelle and James Brophy, Liam, Sean and Sarah Brophy, Stephanie Tracey, Zachery and Mackenzie Dale and Dillon Brophy. She will be missed by special sisters Lena (Tom) Oates of Fermeuse, Aggie (Ray) Kenny of Deer Lake and Jessie (Ray) Power of St. John's and brother Cyril of St. John's, sisters-in-law Mary and Rita Brophy of Fermeuse, Sal Walsh (George) of Fermeuse, brother-in-law Charlie Brophy (Catherine) of St. John's, sisters-in-law Jean Brophy of Bay Bulls and Mary Murphy (St. John's) and sister-in-law Mary Brophy of Boston, special neighbours Des and Dianne Brophy, care-giver Virginia Pennell, best friend Jean Fahey and a large circle of family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation and a celebration of Clara's life will take place at Fahey's Funeral Home in Fermeuse on March 17 & 18 from 2-9 p.m. with a service being held at St.Charles Borromeo Church in Fermeuse on Wednesday, March 19 at 2:30 p.m. with reception to follow at Fermeuse Hall. Flowers are gratefully accepted. "A mother's love is a blessing."
