Abt 1856 - 1887 (~ 31 years)
Generation: 1
| 1. | James Gregory was born Abt 1856, Caplin Bay, Newfoundland; died 26 Aug 1887, Caplin Bay, Newfoundland; was buried Abt 28 Aug 1887, Holy Trinity RC Cemetery, Ferryland, Ferryland District, Newfoundland, Canada. Notes:
It appears that James left Caplin Bay in the 1880s and went to work in the copper mines at Little Bay, on the western shores of Notre Dame Bay, Newfoundland. Little Bay, aka Indian Bight, is a community 16 kms north of Springdale, Newfoundland. Research indicates that his wife's first cousin, John Swain, also went there about the same time, and died there in the mid 1890s. James obviously returned to the Caplin Bay area after his son and then his wife died at Little Bay, in 1883 and 1884, respectively.
