Notes:
Birth:
The date of birth in the 1921 Newfoundland Census shows May 1855, however I found a baptism record (21 Jun 1857) for a Michael Joseph Costello, parents John Costello and Mary Ann Edward (sic) [quite possibly an incorrect transcription for Elward, a variant of Aylward??] in the Harbour Main RC baptism registers.
Michael married Mary Gatherall 10 Jul 1904, Holy Trinity RC Parish, Ferryland, Newfoundland. Mary (daughter of Thomas Gatherall and Bridget Brien) was born Aug 1861, Caplin Bay, Newfoundland; died 25 Oct 1925, Cape Broyle, Newfoundland; was buried Abt 27 Oct 1925, Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cape Broyle, Ferryland District, Newfoundland, Canada.
