From the transcripts of these cases we learn that Martin Grant was afflicted by a mental disability and was almost blind. For reasons not clearly stated, he was often harassed by a number of young men in the settlement. The two men directly charged by Constable Thomas Green were found guilty while another three were found not guilty. Although the case against them wasn't proved, they were cautioned against any re-occurrences before they were discharged.
