 1861 - 1907 (~ 46 years)
Generation: 1
| 1. | Mary Grant was born Mar 1861, Cape Broyle, Newfoundland; died 21 Aug 1907, Bristol, Hartford, Connecticut, United States. Other Events:
- Baptism: 24 Mar 1861, Holy Apostles Parish, (Fermeuse/Renews), Newfoundland
Notes:
Birth:
Although the surviving baptism records for Mary's home parish at Ferryland only go back to 1870, Mary's baptism was recorded in the adjacent parish at Fermeuse. The baptism record gives no indication where she was actually born but the godparent's name suggest they were from Cape Broyle or Brigus South.
Died:
Based on the 1900 and 1910 US Censuses, Mary died in this timeframe. This is the only listing of a Mary Johnston (or Johnson) that is shown for Bristol in the Connecticut Death Record Index, 1897-1966. To date I have been unable to find an on-line record to verify that this record is for Mary (Grant) Johnston.
Mary married John J. Johnston 25 Nov 1883, St. John's RC (Basilica) Parish, St. John's, Newfoundland. John (son of William Johnston and Ellen Rossiter) was born Oct 1857, Caplin Bay, Newfoundland; died 9 Apr 1912, Bristol, Hartford, Connecticut, United States. [Group Sheet]
